John Carpenter has recently stated that he would like to do a sequel to The Thing. The Thing is a 1982 film about a shape-shifting that assimilates scientists working in an Antarctic outpost. The film was not a hit on its initial release but is now considered one of the greatest horror films ever made. Carpenter himself wanted to direct the sequel with Kurt Russell and Keith David where it would pick up several years later with the actors their current ages. Unfortunately, Carpenters sequel never got off the ground but if it happens it would be exciting to see Carpenter go back to one of the greatest horror films ever made.
