Baby Assassins: Nice Days is a 2024 action-comedy crime film written and directed by Yugo Sakamoto. The film Follows Chisato and Mahiro as the become the targets on another hitman as they must try and kill him first. Baby Assassins: Nice Days is a fun entertaining film that is worth a watch.
The direction in the film is good. The actors in the film do a good job with one another, because there is such a tight not cast the actors all work well together and have good natural chemistry with each other. The assassin duo of Chisato and Mahiro also work as a great double act and really help to sell the film. The mood of the film is good. The film is a comedy and its zany over the top nature helps the punctuate the comedy well and make for an entertaining movie. However, the film has serious moments in its plot as well as having a solid story at the core of the film. The style of the film is good. The film is stylised and over the top which works for the film. The film also has a sense of realism to it witch grounds it and makes it funnier.
The acting in the film is good. Saori Izawa does a good job as Mahiro Fukugawa the more serious but socially awkward o the two assassins. Akari. Takaishi does a good job as Chisato Sugimoto the livelier but over the top one of the duo. Kaede Fuyumura a bloodthirsty and zealous assassin tasked with hunting them down and killing them.
The writing in the film is good. The plot is good with the two lead assassins being hunted by another assassin as they try and kill him. The film has a good intense plot that keeps you engaged. The film has a simple plot and uses it well with good dramatic elements that make the film genuinely engaging. The film is also good at the wacky comedy elements having funny moments that offset the more serious elements of the plot. As with all the films what make it work is ultimately the two girls dealing with day-to-day life and how their real struggle is fitting into society. The action is almost secondary to the girl’s real-world struggles making for a funny and unique film.
The cinematography in the film is good. The cinematography isn’t anything amazing however everything is shot well and is clear within the film. The special effects are good. The practical blood effects are well done and really help to punctuate the action scenes.
Baby Assassins: Nice Days is a fun entertaining film that acts as a fitting conclusion to the Baby Assassins trilogy.
